Oh good lorde, she’s actually said something nice about someone.
Lorde and Taylor Swift are the newest BFFs to be pulled together by the magic of music, and have been spotted hanging out together loads recently including a sneaky trip to Shake Shack, and a girly party for Swizzlestick’s 24th birthday. Seriously, we've never wanted to be a third wheel so much.
All this friendship makes a change for lippy Lorde, who’s usually got a wagging finger and a few things to say about her fellow females in the music industry, but when it comes to her pal Swifty, she’s only got lurve. HURRAH.
Even though she’s like, totally the coolest thing since freezepops and like, totally hates all things pop-related, Lorde has admitted that even she can’t resist a bit of the Red album every now and again for a boogie to We Are Never Getting Back Together.
Chatting to MTV, Lorde spilled: "She is so good as a performer. I don't think people realise how difficult a stadium is to perform in. You have to change how you move and how you talk to accommodate that scale, and she is SO good at that.”
“It feels natural when she does it. I'm so in awe of her ability, it's insane”, she gushed. Ew, gushed. Oh Lorde, we couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Swifty is more awesome on stage than a plate of sandwiches delivered by a naked butler. Actually, maybe equally awesome...
However, things haven’t always been hair braiding and pillow fights between the two gals, as back in the day, Lorde said: "Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don't think it's breeding anything good in young girls... That's f--king bulls-t”, before apologising and claiming that her words had been twisted.
ANWAYS, we’re guessing there were cake-shaped bribes involved as the pair are now bestest pals, and all’s well that ends well. Now, just give us a collab you two, or we’ll shut you in a cupboard with a guitar until you create musical fusion.
What do you reckon to Lorde admitting she admires Taylor’s performing skills? Which gal do you think is the best performer? Chuck a comment in the shiny box.
