We've always loved Taylor Swift's music, but we never knew she was so generous!

Taylor Swift went to her school prom, just like any other American teen, but she wasn't sentimental about hanging on to her dress!

She donated her long cream and gold Jessica McClintock prom gown to Hearst Magazine's charity DonateMyDress.org. 

The website aims at helping girls give and find their dream dresses and the likes of Miley, Demi Lovato and Twilight's Ashley Greene have all given up their frocks.

Taylor said: "I chose to give away this prom dress because I wore it once and loved it!" She added: "to keep it around, hanging there all by itself and lonely in my closet, never to be worn again seemed a little pointless.

Taylor's outfit raised £818 for the charity and has freed up some space in her wardrobe - everyone's happy!

She said: "I want another girl somewhere to feel good in it and have a great prom night because of this dress."
