Can you imagine a time in Lady Gaga’s life when she didn’t stand out and wasn’t totally loved for being fabulous and eccentric? Nope, neither can we.

Apparently though, life hasn’t been easy for Gaga, especially when she was growing up. The singer went to a posh private school in New York where mean girls made her life a misery.

She told Cosmopolitan: “School bullies called me fat and laughed at my appearance. I had a very big nose, very curly brown hair and I was overweight. I got made fun of.”

Even though being bullied was awful, Gaga channeled her energies into making music – who’s laughing now?

The megastar now hopes that her music will help people who are going through similar pain. When asked what she would like people to say about her in twenty years time, Gaga replied: “Changed my life and gave her music gave me an identity when I didn’t belong.”
