Katy takes a stand against the lies printed about her...


Hell hath no fury like a Katy Perry lied about, and one Australian magazine is finding out just that.

Remember when we told you about the rumours flying around about Katy cheating on husband Russell Brand with producer Benny Blanco and how we thought they probably weren’t true? Well, guess what, they weren’t and Katy is not happy.

The mag, NW, claimed that Katy was having an “intimate relationship” with Benny had put her marriage in jeopardy. NW also sourced a “friend” of Katy’s called Angela Summer and someone called David Morton, neither of who Katy even knows.

NW also said that Katy was present when Benny mixed her California Gurls single and she wasn’t.

Katy launched the writ against the publisher AP when she arrived in Melbourne on Wednesday, saying:

"By reason of the publication of the article, the plaintiff (Perry) has been gravely injured in her reputation and feelings (and) has suffered distress, embarrassment and humiliation."

Katy also says that NW has refused to apologise for the story "although it was clearly inaccurate".

She could win a six figure payout from the publication. Whooaaaaaa.

OK so we’re feeling a little smug right now as we knew it was so obviously fabricated, it seems people will stop at nothing to write negative stories about the couple.
