We're guessing they might prefer it to a rainbow afro though
But apparently her bold decision to cut it all off as soon as she stepped through the gates of Hogwarts for the last time wasn't actually all that popular with the boys.
Notoriously quiet on the subject of her personal life, Emma admitted to US Glamour that some of the boys in her life weren't all that impressed when she first went for her drastic new do.
"Of course, men like long hair. There's no two ways about it," Emma said.
"The majority of the boys around me were like, 'Why did you do that? That's such an error.' "
But adhering by our own theory that boys can occasionally be fairly stupid, Emma couldn't have given a rat's derrière about anybody else's opinions on her new do.
"I was like, 'Well, honestly, I don't really care what you think!' I've never felt so confident as I did with short hair - I felt really good in my own skin," she continued.
"If I had it my way, I would have just kept it short forever."
We are big fans of Emma's pixie crop, but were interested to hear her say that actually, she still fancies going back short.
What do you think of her look?
