Sarah Jessica Parker has unearthed her bizarre family history – apparently she's descended from a witch!


Through an appearance on the US version of Who Do You Think You Are?, SJP has discovered that her family are descendents of a woman accused of witchcraft in the infamous Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Her great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmother was the 'witch' in question. Crazy!

"When you read these charges, it's so absolutely crazy," said Sarah Jessica. "It's madness... I can't imagine [what] it would take to be accused, what it was like to have everybody around you pointing at you... I just want to go on record as saying I find this really actually physically upsetting. It's really horrible." Boo. Isn't it a weird coincidence that SJP herself played a witch in the classic 1993 film Hocus Pocus? Though we must admit, she does look a little 'witchy'...
