Sugar favourites Gavin and Stacey and Harry Hill scooped gongs at this year's British Academy Awards in London...

Gavin & Stacey led the charge at this year's Bafta Television Awards, scooping two awards on the night.

The BBC3 sitcom took awards for best comedy performance for writer/actor James Corden, as well as the audience award, beating Strictly Come Dancing and Britain's Got Talent to the title.

Harry Hill's TV Burp also took home two awards for Best entertainment performance and programme.

James Corde, Smithy in G&S, said on the red carpet that after a Christmas special, he wasn't sure about the future of the hit show.

He said: "We can only really make a third series if we think it's going to be better than the first two.

"We only really want to make one if we know we have got a story that's worth telling."

We're sure it will be.
