Amy Winhouse, our favourite bouffanted bad-girl singer, will be playing returning character The Rani on BBC1's Doctor Who starting with this season's finale.
The Rani is an evil genius Time Lady who will stop at nothing to carry out her devious experiments. She may have also once had a relationship with none other than the handsome Doctor, himself. Scandalous!
Ames is a huge fan of the sci-fi series -- she and hubby Blake apparently have all the DVDs in their flat, and she said she had a huge crush on former Doctor star Tom Baker. What, no love for David Tennant?

Love Amy...And Doctor who is like dragging....i mean how many episodes are they gonna make till they like finally give up!?!?! Hope Amy uderstands all of this tv stuff...because i don't think she gets it ...oh well ly xxxx

i really think dr who wud go down if she went on the show even though i am i big amy whinehouse fan and not a dr who lover i hope i am proved wrong though and that it makes her get back on track but i doubt that very much x

Oh no. I'm a huge Doctor Who fan, and I think that they're really going downhill with the actors and actresses they're using. I mean, Billie, David and Christopher may have already been famous before DW, but they weren't really well known, popular and in the public eye at that time. But Catherine Tate is really popular - and also a really bad actress (She baisically can only play one character, even in different roles), and Amy Winehouse.. Isn't that just a shameless search for publicity for the series? And as much as I'd hope it would, I really doubt a role in Doctor Who would put Amy back on track, I really hope this is just a rumour ¬__¬
