Architectural heels are THE ''it' shoes this season, but are they more 'ouch' than 'oooh'?

From Miu Miu to YSL and Marc Jacobs, all the designers have been going crazy for wacky, artistic heels and fashionistas (including Mary-Kate, Gwynnie and Kate Bosworth) have literally been falling over each other to get their hands on them.

Architectural shoes can be hard to categorise, but we'd say that anything with sculpted heels, slick lines and a modern design element are definitely it.

Remember when Alexa Chung's team of runners tested out architectural shoes on Gok's Fashion Fix? We learnt that they're not really practical and certainly not comfy, but they look fabulous!

We like to use the super deluxe designer version as a fashion reference point and always try to hunt out more affordable pair.
