The boyfrend jean is over, bring on the boyfriend shirt!

Seen on the backs of Keira Knightley, Agy D and Rihanna, the boyfriend shirt is making a real style statement.

Rihanna wears hers with tassled flats, cut off shorts, shades and a neon bikini top. The look could also be rocked with skinny jeans or harem pants, with loads of sultry attitude. If however you don't think the boyfriend shirt works as formal attire, then use it as a fashion forward cover up on the beach, oh so comfy and just so cool!

If you like what you see then sneak off to your dad's wardrobe and 'borrow' one, or one from your bro or your boyfriend for that matter. If none of the above applies, then grab your own! We don't think there's any point paying extra for an girl version of an oversized man's shirt, when you can just go ahead and buy one of these:

Man's shirt, £4 from George at Asda

Gingham shirt, £7 from New look

So what do you make of boyfriend clothes? Do girls wear them just to show they have boyfriend, or is it a style statement?
