Into fashion? Check. Into making things? Check. Into making your own fashion? Double, triple quadruple check.

We're jumping up and down and waving our totally-fashionable fingertips in the air right now, 'cause we've just heard that Somerset House in London have set up two fashion studio days for young people over the summer holidays. Attendees (AKA Vivienne Westwood wannabes minus the orange hair) will get the chance to try their hand at distressing clothes and to see how a real photo shoot works.

The first of these events is the ‘Damsels in distress’ day for 13-18 year olds on the 28th July, where you can learn techniques to alter your clothes – using fraying, stencilling, and painting to create totally unique attire. We're penciling it into our diaries as we type this.

But if you’re less about styling the clothes, and more about capturing their beauty on film, (or standing in front of the camera yourself) then fear not.  The ‘We are Photogirls’ event on the 18th of August is the studio day for you, where you can learn all about the world of modelling and photography.

Both of these events sound like opportunities not to be missed – learn new skills, and be part of creating something beautiful, intimidatingly cool, and more fashionable than Alexa Chung's whole entire wardrobe.
