Sugarscape readers put the products on trial...
Last month Sugarscape ran a competition for three lucky readers to win a selection of products from the new Good Things skin care range and write a review of each for the site. After two weeks trialling the range the verdicts are in and our beauty panel is ready to share its thoughts. Here's what they have to say...
Emily, 15, trialled Good Things Creamy Cleanser, Refreshing Polish and Dream Cream.
The packaging on the good things range is lovely, it looks young and pretty, exactly how I want to look! I had the Creamy Cleanser, Refreshing Polish and Dream Cream (night cream) I used the products every evening apart from the polish which I used around every other day.
When you open each bottle/tub the first thing you notice is the amazing smell, the cleanser is grape and pomegranate, and feels really good as you rub it into your skin, I used it after taking off my makeup with normal makeup wipes and it really helps to make your skin feel fresh, it promises to boost your skin with anti-oxidants and to take off dirt and excess oils. I have used cleansers before that leave my skin feeling really dry, this does what it promises though and leaves my skin feeling clean and fabulously fresh! After massaging it into my face for a minute or so I wash it off with a flannel and then move on to the Freshening Polish (or the night cream depending on the day).
The Polish, or scrub, says it will ‘lift away dead cells along with dirt and impurities’ I found the scrub really nice, it wasn’t too rough or harsh on my skin. It smells of strawberry and cranberry and really does give a lasting clean feeling. It doesn’t feel like you are putting chemicals on your face, it smells and feels natural which I think makes it even nicer!
The Dream Cream really is a dream; I loved the avocado and fig smell, even though I don’t actually like to eat either fruit! It helps to rehydrate, and revitalise your skin, hopefully making your skin look and feel better when you wake up. I think using a night cream before you sleep along with a daily moisturiser in the morning is a really good idea, while you sleep your body does most of its repair work so it makes sense! Massaging in the cream feels really good and smooth, it doesn’t make your skin oily and soaks in well, although I like to try and do it at least 10 mins before I sleep because I don’t want any to rub off before it properly soaks in! It smells really good as you try to go to sleep too.
Although I may still have some spots, the products are gorgeous, they make my skin feel cleaner and healthier, and I shall keep on using them! I think they would help people with acne and dry or oily skin, really any young skin type, if you use them every day they do lead to better looking and feeling skin in my opinion!
I would really like to try the ‘stop that spot clearing gel’ to see if that helps anymore because I have been impressed by the range so far! I used these products on holiday with my friend and she wants them now because they smell so good.
I like using them at night because I have more time, and this as far as I can see is the only small minus to the products, but it would be the same with any, finding the time to do it every day. However they don’t take too long to apply and if you had the time in the morning the cleanser and other products in the range would be an amazing ‘fresh start’ to the day.
