That's why his hair is so big - it's full of secrets

Holy toaster strudel and YOUR MUM'S CHEST HAIR - because Mean Girls director Mark Waters has revealed that he originally cast Lindsay Lohan as Queen of mean Regina George in the hit cult flick.

Not only that, but Rachel McAdams - who ended up taking on the role of Regina - actually auditioned for the part of Cady Heron first.

OUR WORLD HAS BEEN TURNED UPSIDE DOWN.

Speaking about Lindsay, Mark said: "Her energy is a very aggressive, testosterone-laden energy, and that's exactly what I knew I needed for Regina George,' he told Vulture.

"When I gave it to her, she was like, 'I f****** love Regina George! This is exactly the part I want to play.

"So we did a read-through, and we were trying to look for somebody to play the role of Cady, but frankly, we didn't find anyone we liked who felt strong enough to go up against Lindsay."

Enter, Rachel - who auditioned for the part of home-schooled innocent turned plastic Cady, only to be told by Mark she was 'too old'.

"I told [Rachel], 'I think you're a movie star, but you're too old for this character," said Mark. "You just aren't going to be able to play the ingenue."

And so Mark swapped the pair, resulting in the pure cinematic genius we still know and love today.

"Lindsay kind of begrudgingly said, 'Okay, I guess I'll play the lead. At least I get to have more lines,'' he said, before revealing that as soon as the pair met he knew he'd made the right choice, with Li-Lo actually shy around Rachel in real life.

"When Lindsay was acting with Rachel, she got very shy because Rachel was older and a very accomplished actress," he explained. "She'd come in the room and not talk to Lindsay – she was very focused.

"Lindsay kind of got nervous around her, and I thought that, more than anything, was going to be the deciding factor, the fact that she affected Lindsay in that way."

WELL. Four for you Mark Co Co - FOUR FOR YOU.

Who said it - Harry Styles or Carrie Bradshaw?
