Wagner, Goldie, it’s been a pleasure…
Scapers we have some bad news. This year The X Factor will not feature anyone who makes us want to throw our socks at our TVs. Yup, gone are the days of Wagner and Jedward knocking talented contestants out and making the country disproportionately angry, as Nicole Scherzinger says no one bad has gone through.
Hold the phone.
Speaking about the surprises the show has in store for us this year, Scherzy said: “I think there are shockers in the sense that you’ve got real, raw, authentic, original talent. As opposed to like, ‘What? How did they get in there?’”
No. It can’t be. We need older Latino men getting their chest hair out. We NEED tiny, middle aged mothers wrapping their legs around Gary Barlow’s head, and OH GOD WE NEED novelty haircuts.
But oh no, Nicole has seen none of that. In fact judging from the sound of it, she likes British talent so much that she prefers it to US.
“Typically in the US we have big diva singers… in the UK they’re a little bit more singer / songwriter-y. They’ve got a little bit more wit to them, more character, a lot of storytelling that they bring to the table when they’re performing and when they’re writing.
“It’s not so much about the big voices; it’s more about the character and the tone.”
Well we always thought that Wagner had loads of character and tone to his voice…
Are excited are you about this year’s X Factor? We’re so excited we might speak like Gary Barlow / Liam Payne (Liry Paylow?) until Christmas.
