We laughed, we cried, we shouted at the TV...
So what the hell happened?
Tonight we saw the judges whittle all the contestants down to six per group ready to be taken to Judges’ Houses. Or “Homes” as they’ve now started to say. The path to Casa del Judge was a tough one for the auditionees this evening and the show took us on a rollercoaster on our sofa.
Well let’s start with our favourite of faves Jahmene Douglas. Oh god we want to wrap him in cotton wool and never let the cruel world hurt him... We saw Jahmene mess up on last night’s show, but the judges put him through as they believed in his talent. For his final performance though, nerves hit him like a punch from Tulisa and he literally couldn’t function, explaining in his state, “I just need it to be perfect.” As he began to pass out his audition was delayed and medics were called to treat him.
It wasn’t until Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger came backstage and managed to move their faces enough to comfort him that he could find it in him to perform.
Then in true X Factor style he gave the performance of a lifetime.
Predictable we know, but we loved it nonetheless.
Jesus, that is a bit dramatic, any other heart attack moments?
Yup right at the end when the judges couldn’t decide who to put through out of boybands GMD3 and Triple J. They put the boys to a very intense sing-off and both did awesome jobs, despite Triple J’s
fit faces immense talent the judges decided that GMD3 should be the ones to go through.
Oh god, this must be the end of Triple J then. Will we ever see them again?!
Erm yes. After group Rough Copy had Visa issues, Triple J have been put through to Judges Houses, but they’re called Union J now. WHHOOOOOOOOP. Ahem.
Any crimes against reality TV justice?
Yes, Jade Richards (who went to Kelly Rowland’s home last year) didn’t get put through. We’d have less difficulty understanding Pythagoras than the reason why.
Man band Times Red also didn’t get a look in which is surprising as they pretty much made Nicole’s ovaries explode.
Anyone who shouldn’t have gone through?
Well our lovely Twitter followers were getting mighty angry about Rylan Clark making it to Judges Houses, and we’re yet to see what he has beyond novelty value and fabulous eyebrows.
Anything else you might like to add?
YES. Lucy Spraggan was bloody brilliant and once again performed one of her own songs called Tea and Toast. It was a dead sad one and we’re pretty sure we saw a tear escape Louis’ ducts.
Ella Henderson was also brilliant with her striped down rendition of Cher’s Believe. It was so moving that for a while we thought Nicole must have sat on a bike without the seat, she was crying so much.
So is there anyone who looks like a winner already?
We’d say keep your eye on GMD3, Triple J, James Arthur and Ella Henderson.
Apparently Simon Cowell turned up too?
Yup, he phoned from LA to tell the judges their categories and it looks like this:
Gary Barlow, Overs: Melanie Masson, Carolynne Poole, Christopher Maloney, Kye Sones, Nicola- Marie, Brad Shackleton
Nicole Scherzinger, Boys: Jake Quickenden, Rylan Clarke, Adam Burridge, Jahmene Douglas, James Arthur, Nathan Fagan- Gayle
Tulisa, Girls: Ella Henderson, Jade Ellis, Jade Collins, Lucy Spraggan, Leanne Robinson, Amy Mottram
Louis Walsh, Groups: MK1, Union J (Formally Triple J), Mitsotu, Poisonous Twins, GMD3, Duke
Tonight’s show on a scale of MEH to AAAGGGHHHH
OHHHHHH. We liked it a lot, hopefully it’ll set the pace for the rest of the series because let’s be honest it’s been a bit dull so far.
What are your thoughts on it all?
