Boyband rivalry, judge rivalry and Nicole Scherzinger’s Tabasco sauce.
Second show, how did it go?
It went well, thanks for asking. All the acts did loads better than last week, notably Union J, who were like a different band tonight, which is a relief, ‘cause let’s be honest, you lot love ‘em.
There was tension within the judges after Louis Walsh made Gary Barlow do his angry face last week, and Tulisa was oddly subdued. Nicole Scherzinger was just plain ol’ odd. We’re falling in love with her.
There were definitely no dull moments, in fact we’ve got to say, we’re now proper excited about the rest of the series.
So come on, who was the best then?
Ella Henderson gave a stunning performance of Loving You, a song we usually can’t stand, but she made us uncover our ears. James Arthur also stood out as a real good’un, but the crown has to go to Ells Bells.
Was there a fail whale in the room?
Well Rylan will have the nation divided with his massive mash-up which included Gangnam and a little Take That ode to Gary; but we thought he rocked.
We hate to say it, but Kye Sones disappointed. He was so strong during his auditions, but he can’t seem to get it back for the live shows.
Will the first act fall victim to the curse? Can you even remember the first act?
Yes. Just give us a second. Ahem. *Taps feet.* JAHMENE DOUGLAS. Yes, that’s it Jahmene, and he sang Amy Winehouse’s Tears Dry On Their Own. He wasn’t bad, he’ll be safe on the basis that he’s Jahmene and everyone loves him.
Boyband watch: Has the rivalry started yet?
Oh HELL and YEAH. Gary is very keen to make out that Union J are far better than District3, but we have to say we disagree. Both bands did a really solid job tonight. Union J were more energetic with their version of Bleeding in Love, but District3’s Boys II Men cover didn’t call for a lot of jumping around.
Judging from Twitter, you lot reckon they’re both as good as each other too, so excuse us while we flip the bird to Gazza.
And now a paragraph dedicated to Nicole.
Scherzy is fast becoming the Will.i.am of The X Factor. Tonight we saw her drinking pints, eating pork scratchings (like what old men do), and talking about apple pie, cream, oil and covering boybands in Tabasco sauce. We want her to join Sugarscape.
Hmmm, may Christopher Maloney as his performance was fine but nothing special, and we hate to say it, but Kye.
Any clear winners from tonight?
It’s gotta be Ella Henderson. Jeez and Loweeez.
