Now, now - let's not be defeatist.
In fact, the Essex lad has admitted that he's 'fine' with being a 'joke act', but added that he isn't joking when it comes to dance music.
"I've got no expectations to win the show," Rylan told The Sun. "I'm serious about doing dance music, but if going on stage and having fun makes you a joke act then fine, but I'm loving it and I'm so grateful for all the support."
"At the end of the day, I've worked like every other contestant to where we are," he added. "People don't realise how much work goes in."
Well, we're not going to speculate on who we think will win just yet (the sugarscape office is divided on that score anyway) but let us just say this.
If The X Factor gave out awards for rocking gold spandex and working tiny shorts - there's no doubt in our minds that Ry would win.
What do you think about his comments?
