*Sob* Are we going to lose Simon from our screens for good?
Listen up America! Simon Cowell is ours, and we want him back!
We were already annoyed that the X Factor judge has been spending more time than ever before in the U-S-of-A while he prepares for the stateside version of the show, but now he's announced he will quit Britain's Got Talent to concentrate on the American project we're absolutely livid.
But it seems Simon's tiring of the so-called talent in Blighty. He already threatened to quit while filming this season's auditions. After watching an act called Penguin Lady, who inflates rubber gloves with the help of a hosepipe and penguin puppet, Simon said:
"What the hell? I'm not going to be back next year. I'm not kidding. I can't do this anymore."
Thankfully Si can still appreciate the humour in the show, meaning there's still hope he won't turn his back on Britain's favourite variety show for good.
He told the Daily Mail: "I like the show, but it takes a hell of a lot of time and there are moments, I am not going to lie, where are you sitting there looking at these horrific acts and you actually think I genuinely can't do this anymore. But then you watch it back and you think it was all fun."
His plan now is to give himself a smaller role in next year's series, perhaps appearing as a judge 'at a later stage' of the contest.
But fans of the Simon may be surprised to hear that the man who is often thought to have one of the largest egos in Britain can, in fact, see the show going on without him altogether.
"In terms of who would replace me, I don't know to be honest with you," he said. "You have really got to know what you are talking about and you have really got to be able to spot a star."
So who would you like to see take over from Simon on the next series? Comments please!
