California band are asking for frick loadsa money
We already told you that some One Direction fans were getting angry at the other One Direction, a California based band who just happen to have the same name as those five lads from the UK you might have heard of, but now it looks like the big bosses are getting angry too.
One Direction UK are said to be getting sued by One Direction US in what's expected to be a multimillion dollar lawsuit, to stop One Direction UK using the band name for any promo purposes.
One Direction US are reported to also want a share of the profits One Direction UK have made, and the lawsuit is said to say the California band reckon they're "entitled to three times the profits made by their rivals, as well as compensatory damages in excess of $1m."
It's also said to say that One Direction and Syco music "chose to ignore the plaintiff's rights and wilfully infringed them" after everyone realised that there were two One Directions in 2011.
Apparently the Californian One Direction have released two albums under the name One Direction, which they've been using since 2009.
Woah, that was a pretty serious story.
