The star of indie-biopic Control is now the face of Burberry for Autumn/Winter.

Northerner Sam had a part-time job folding T-shirts in a Leeds warehouse ('which I wasn't even very good at,' he says, bless!), when he heard about the Control auditions.

He had acted former actor with the National Youth Theatre, he was in a band called 10,000 Things, who'd been dropped by their record label and broken up acrimoniously after a stinking review in the NME.

He got the part in Control after three auditions, wowed him with his impersonation of Curtis's stage-flailing  and was hired on 8 January, 2006, his twenty-sixth birthday (one he shares, he says proudly, with David Bowie and Elvis Presley).

The film's producers had been hoping for a more well-known name (Jude Law, Cillian Murphy were interested).

Now he's in the new Burberry ads and looking smouldering....

Get ready to swoon....
