One piece of poo at a time
Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard aren't just good at intense face-scrunching and singing about metaphors for love, fear, and other such emotional traumas - OH NO, they're also awesome at showing their support for charidee. Ben and Ed have signed up to protect the waves with the Surfers Against Sewage campaign.
Maybe it'll inspire some moving melodies about poo.
But seriously, they're being ever so noble.
“I’m stoked to support Surfers Against Sewage Protect Our Waves Petition. Beaches and surf spots should be better protected, so please join me in signing the SAS petition for clean, protected waves, beaches and oceans,” said Ben.
SAS’s new Protect Our Waves petition is trying to get over 100,000 signatures to to shout about saving surfing waves and beaches, and encourage the big-wigs at Parliament to debate legislation to recognise and protect surfing waves as a cultural, social, economic and environmental asset to coastal communities.
Which is all pretty serious, but essentially asks for everyone to stop chucking poo and rubbish in the sea for surfers to accidentally eat / ingest / cut themselves on and possibly die. Nightmare.
To get involved, sign the petition at www.protectourwaves.org. Innit.
