Well we've still got YouTube and iTunes

We’ve listened to Lorde’s Royals so many times that we’re literally driving Cadillacs in our dreams, sticking diamonds on our timepiece and walking tigers on a gold leash, but we’re still a bit gutted to hear that she wants to stop it being played on the radio.

After being one of the biggest and most played tracks of 2013, even Lorde herself is a bit sick of it, and has revealed that she wants to get it pulled from radio airtime to make sure that people don’t get tired of hearing her.

Lorde

Lorde admitted in a chat with V magazine that although it’s still getting loads of play across the world and remains a massive hit after months and months, she wants Royals off the radio soon so that fans can have a break from listening to her before she releases new stuff.

She explained: “I want to let people stop hearing Lorde on the radio all the time, because it’s kind of crazy at the moment.”

Yep, all those gold teeth, grey goose, trippin’ in the bathroom sorts are getting a bit out of control. But don’t be too gutted, as it sounds like we’re going to be getting some new material from the grumpiest gal around very soon.

Lorde added: "I'd like to give people a little bit of breathing room before I unleash something different.''

Lorde

Lorde’s admitted that Royals isn’t particularly her favourite tune before, as she told The Music: “I understand why it worked and why it was kind of a hit, but at the same time there’s part of me that’s like…'these melodies are just not as good as something I could have written now'."

So even having bagged two frickin’ shiny golden Grammys for it, she still doesn't want to bounce up and down on her bed and boogie to Royals. Some people are just never happy are they?

What do you think about Lorde wanting Royals off the radio? Is it a good idea to give people a break from her music?
