Not about a night out with Ross Geller
While we sit around patiently waiting for Ed Sheeran's shiny new album Multiply to penetrate our ear canals with its sweet, sweet aural juices (sort of like Sunny Delight, but more musical), he's decided to treat us to yet another new track that almost-but-didn't-quite make the record. Yup, he's chucked Friends - the b-side to Sing - on the interweb and our lugholes just let out a little whimper of joy.
Friends is the *ultimate* friend zone theme, with Eddy singing about a misleading little madam who's blurring the boundaries between BFFs and horizontal Hokey Cokey partners. Gah. Check out the track below, yo.
And IN FURTHER NEWS Ed's admitted he actually wanted to release One as the album's lead single...until Elton John and Taylor Swift persuaded him otherwise. Chatting to Seven magazine, he revealed: "[Taylor] said I was mad if I put out One first. She was like, 'That's just gonna...not bore people, but just satisfy them. But you want people to talk. And if they listen to Sing they can love or hate it, but they are gonna talk about it'.
"Taylor and Elton are two of the people I would play music to and really listen to their advice. Taylor has not put a foot wrong, ever. So I played her every song I ever wrote for this album."
What d'ya make of all this, then? Loving Friends? Glad Ed went for Sing first? Comments please.
