The X Factor finalists are heroes in their own right as their single tops the charts at number one!


It doesn't matter that there can only be one winner on the X Factor because all 12 finalists can be deemed winners after their single Hero reached number 1 in this week's charts!

The single was became the fastest selling charity single of the decade and the fastest selling single of the year!  It sold 313,244 copies in one week!

The record, which is in aid of Help the Heroes and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal outsold the rest of the top ten other singles combined together! That is a lot of singles!

The single is the first charity release from ITV1’s The X Factor,  Simon Cowell said: “It’s a really important cause, we are all honoured to be a part of it and most importantly this is going to raise money for a group of people who really need help and support."

The twelve acts performing on the single are the 14 – 24 boys Austin Drage, Eoghan Quigg and Scott Bruton, 14 – 24 girls Laura White, Diana Vickers and Alexandra Burke, over 25s Daniel Evans, Rachel Hylton, Ruth Lorenzo and groups Bad Lashes, Girlband and JLS.
