Not together - although we're sure Liam would love some Spice in his life
If ever there was a more perfect moment for Geri Halliwell to get her Union Jack dress out of retirement, we'd imagine it'd be for the London Olympics and funnily enough, it's rumoured that The Spice Girls might actually be planning to reunite on stage for the Closing Ceremony.
They aren't the only ones supposedly due for a comeback either as apparently Liam Gallagher will also be taking to the stage, unfortunately not at the same time as the girls.
Although the girls haven't performed together in a while, they reunited to launch the musical Viva Forever last month and apparently are now "95%" confirmed to spice things up on stage at the Olympic Closing Ceremony.
“The girls were approached for the Games two years ago. It’s always been on the cards," an insider told The Mirror.
"But Victoria’s hectic work schedule, and the fact she and Mel B live in the US have always been problematic until now.
Funny that, what with it being slap bag on the other side of the world and all.
“Victoria is in London until the end of the Games and David’s exclusion from the football team means she has time to reunite with the Spice Girls," the source continued.
“Talks are back in full swing and the balance of power rests with Mel C. Everyone is hopeful she will agree to perform.”
Although we're yet to find out if we will be getting a dose of girl power on the night, it has been confirmed that ex-Oasis singer Liam Gallagher will be taking to the stage for a rendition of classic Brit-pop hit Wonderwall after his brother Noel reportedly turned down the offer.
What do you think about all this? Excited to see Liam and how do you feel about the Spice Girls getting back together?
