The music buffs were out in force last night at the 2013 Grammy Awards nomination ceremony and although Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran have both been nominated, it looks like there'll be no extra trophies for One Direction or Justin Bieber's mantelpieces this time round.
With Ed and awesome track the A Team up against Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe for the prestigious Song of The Year award that specifically recognises songwriting talent, Swifty is also up for the much sought after Record Of The Year Award with catchy single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
"A team. A song I wrote with no home, no money, anything, nominated for best record at the Grammys. A dream come true. Ecstatic," Ed tweeted.
Taylor also took to Twitter to show her excitement for her numerous nominations, saying: "Honored to also be nominated for 2 Grammys with @thecivilwars for 'Safe and Sound' on @thehungergames soundtrack. Unreal!"
Among the other nominees are numerous big names including Kelly Clarkson, Calvin Harris, Drake, Mumford & Sons, Gotye, fun and Janelle Monae, Pink, Florence + The Machine, Rihanna and country singing HOTTIE Hunter Hayes.
The award ceremony famously recognises genres across the musical spectrum with awards for the best albums of the year focusing on everything from R&B, dance and pop to rock, country and rap. But despite all that, it looks like there was no room for 1D this year.
They aren't the only ones who have missed out and Justin Bieber is also notably absent from the piles of nominees despite the fact that Believe has been a massive chart topper this year.
The winners will be announced at the swanky ceremony held in LA on February 10.
What do you think about the nominations?
