As part of its 2013 celebration of books and reading, World Book Day and teen self-publishing site have teamed up to produce an exclusive free app for teens in the UK and Ireland (available for iOS and Android), packed full of new short stories by top Young Adult (YA) authors.

But for the very first time, young writers have been given the chance to join them.

That’s right, you could see your work up there with Dawn O’Porter’s, Patrick Ness’, Sarah Alderson’s and many more, as every week is giving aspiring writers the chance to submit and vote for their favourite stories. The very best will then be selected for publication on the World Book Day YA app, launching on 25th February.

Dawn O’Porter said: “I can’t wait to read some of the competition entries from our country’s next generation of talented writers, and will be proud to see my World Book Day story sitting alongside the cream of the crop.
