We’re guessing Australian Selena Gomez fans are probably gonna want to chuck another shrimp on the barbie to cheer themselves up a bit, as today it’s been announced that she’s been forced to cancel her tour dates for down under. OH NO.

Fortunately, there’s nothing too dramatic behind Selena's Stars Dance cancellation, as she's spoken out to assure fans that they have nothing to worry about, and she simply needs a bit of time off to rest and take a break to get back to her normal self.

Selena Gomez

A source close to hard working Selena explained to E! News that Selena can't keep working at the crazy non-stop rate she has been: "Selena is OK. She just realised it was time to take a break for herself. She's been working non-stop for six years.”

"She hit a wall. She wants to spend time with her family, especially for the holidays. She is not having a breakdown. She wants to be the healthiest that she can be and this means taking a little break. But she is fine. She is OK."

Selena herself also issued a heartfelt statement to explain exactly why she’s taken the bold decision to axe 13 dates from her Stars Dance tour across Australia and Asia.

“My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them, but it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.”
