If Taylor Swift's taught us anything, it's that the best way to tell your ex where to go is by writing a song about them breaking you heart and then earning gazillions of dollars when it goes straight to Number 1. Apparently pal Ed Sheeran quite likes this sentiment too, but after revealing that brand new track Don't is all about a cheaty ex-girlfriend, it turns out that even Swifty has been shocked by just how sassy it is.
To be perfectly honest, the track has already caused more controversy than that time Tom Parker rubbed a bag of poo on Jay McGuiness and we haven't even heard it yet. But whether it's about Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez or any other girl, she might want to prepare herself for a few home truths.
Explaining that there was no holding back on this one, it turns out Ed totally gets where Swifty's coming from when it comes to putting your heartached into your music.
"Taylor's one of these people that if you piss her off and she writes a song about you, it's not good news for you," he told Rolling Stone. "I've never dated Taylor. I've dated a few singers, though."
But while Eddy is keeping quiet about who the track is about, he did reveal that even the queen of break up tracks herself was a bit shocked by how up front it was.
Chatting about her reaction, Ed said: "She was just like, 'Whatever happens, ever, between us as friends, I never want to piss you off that much!'"
These things work both ways and while Ed has been playing the new album to TayTay, he's also had a sneak preview of the next batch of tracks she's set to unleash on the world and his verdict is going to have you itching for a listen.
"It's really f***ing good," he said. "She's stepped up her game."
As exciting as this is, can we talk about the fact even Swifty was shocked about this? Especially seeing as it might be about one of her pals...
What do you make of all this?
