Pixie Geldof is preparing to launch a solo singing career, with several record labels bidding over her, it has been reported.

The sister of tragic Peaches - who died last month aged just 25 - Pixie has already ventured into the music industry as the lead singer of indie band Violet.

Now she's apparently decided to pursue a solo career, having written loads of her own material over the past few months.

A source told The Sun: “Pixie’s thrown herself into her work to get over the death of Peaches. She’s working hard to keep her head down in the zone and staying focused.

“In fact, she sees it as a tribute to Peaches, who was so into music, that what happened will inspire tracks for her debut.”

Pixie is tipped to sign with Warner and could end up becoming part of the Atlantic label - which also has the likes of Ed Sheeran, Plan B and Paolo Nutini on its books.

A music source told The Sun: “Pixie’s been working non-stop on tracks for her album for months and has been ready to go for ages.

“She writes all her own music and has been extremely careful to make sure the material is good before she pushes forward into the music industry.

“She realises all eyes will be on her when she begins and the critics will be sharpening their claws. But the new material has blown everyone away — she’s very talented and it will be a proper platform for her to be signed to, one where the likes of Ed Sheeran are already signed.”

An alleged friend also spoke to the newspaper, saying that Pixie deserves success after the tragedies that have blighted her life: “She’s worked tirelessly for years to make sure she’s ready when she launches herself into the music arena and now is the right time.”

WELL - we're looking forward to hearing her tunes. How about you?
