It's no secret that 5 Seconds of Summer are boys with big dreams. Nor is it a secret that they bloody love those Green Day guys. So it'll probably come as no surprise that Calum Hood reckons they fancy following in the footsteps of Billy Joe and co. by creating their very own musical *jazz hands*.
Oh they've all done it, haven't they? ABBA. Queen. The, um, Spice Girls.
Cal-Pal reckons he wants the lads' tunes to go beyond your standard punk-popstar malarky; saying they'd love to 'have their hand' in putting together a proper show based on their bops.
Having a chinwag with Rolling Stone, Calum said: "Green Day have been put in a position where they can make a f**king Broadway musical. That's something we'd love to have our hand in, not just making albums. To do that kind of stuff is amazing."
Well this sounds a bit brilliant, does it not? A few ideas for ya, boys; just in case you're properly thinking of going ahead with it:
- Grease, as told from The Pink Ladies' perspective. Michael, Calum, Ashton and Luke being said Pink Ladies in some silky bomber jackets, obviously.
- The Sounds Good Feels Good of Music. Basically The Sound of Music, but with a punk edge.
Anything involving Ashton Irwin in lycra again. Maybe an updated Fame?
Something like that, anyways.
What d'ya reckon, eh? Wanna see this happen? Give us a tweet with any INNOVATIVE IDEAS over @sugarscape or drop a comment in the box below, pleaaaase. Cheers.
