Remember when Channing Tatum appeared on Lip Sync Battle across the pond earlier this month and thought he'd give Beyoncé's 'Run the World (Girls)' a bash joined by, um, actual Beyoncé? Well he's been telling Ellen DeGeneres all about it and reckons that was actually the most 'terrifying' thing he's ever done. Not surprising, really.
Channing sat around with Ellen for a chinwag about potentially the most amazing turn of events since Simon Cowell decided to put those five boys in that boy band; and he's revealed he never actually even intended on her being there for the performance. Like, he just wanted a 'cardboard cut-out.' Amazing.
Chatting on the show, Channing said: "I had never met her before. I won't even tell you what I had to do to essentially get her assistant's phone number...I was texting her. I didn't even have the intention of her coming.
"It was a whole ploy to get permission to do something, 'cos I had gotten it through the grapevine that [Jenna Dewan Tatum] was gonna bring out [Paula Abdul] and I was like, 'Hmm, who can I bring out?' I know Beyoncé's not gonna come, so I wanted to bring like a cardboard cutout of Beyoncé out just to be funny.
"Ultimately I ended up having to meet Beyoncé doing Beyoncé, and that was definitely the most terrifying thing I've ever done."
But she had fun though, right? Channing added: "I said 'hi' and she goes, 'Hey, that was really funny. See ya!' But she did text afterwards and she was like, "Hey, I would love to meet you guys and hang out when you're not looking like me and so terrifying."
