Rihanna was slated to perform ANTI track 'Kiss It Better' at last night's big GRAMMYs ceremony alongside the likes of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Adele; but was unfortunately forced to pull out due to bloody bronchitis. AGH.
RiRi had actually been rehearsing earlier in the day and all looked pretty much good to go; however the star was actually a no-show at the event after doctors advised her to go on voice rest to ensure she didn't 'permanently damage' her vocal cords.
Over the course of the evening there was loads of speculation as to what the frick was goin' down - and now it's been confirmed she's actually suffering an unfortunately-timed bout of bronchitis.
Releasing the following statement from backstage at the GRAMMYs press room (we imagine the buffet's second to none), RiRi's rep explained: "Based on Rihanna's examination after Grammy rehearsal, Rihanna's doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because of a risk of hemorrhaging. The antibiotics did not kill the infection adequately, therefore she cannot perform safely."
Rihanna herself also took to Twitter to apologise to disappointed fans, saying: "#NAVY so sorry I couldn't be there ..... Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight." [sic].
Get well soon, babes.
