Zayn Malik of formerly One Direction fame showed off his impeccable high notes and slayed us all when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this week, unveiling new track 'It's You' and the album artwork for debut track Mind of Mine.
Said artwork involves ridiculously cute foetus el Maliko (excuse us whilst we weep a little bit) covered in his current tattoos, and music fans and Lil Wayne girls alike were quick to make comparisons with the rapper's album The Carter III.
Why? 'Cos Lil Wayne's album cover also chucks loads of tattoos onto an old adorable baby pic, with some twitter users questioning whether Zayn had stolen the idea from him and fobbed it off as his own.
But we can all sleep soundly again with a Horlicks in tow, because Zayn took to Twitter to assure the world that wasn't the intention, and that 'a lot of artists use it for their own reasons'.
He wrote: "I'm not tryna be no rapper , my album is me a child .. My ideas have been with me a long time, Use your brain, appreciate art don't discriminate what you don't understand [sic]"
He also retweeted a tweet which says: "Lil Wayne didn't trademark using baby pictures as cover art fam. Zayn just following legends that's it.", along with the caption: "true. A lot of artists use it for their own reasons."
SO THERE YOU GO. No bad blood or idea stealing here, yo.
But what do you lot reckon, then? Has Zayn been major inspired by Lil Wayne or what? Discuss with us @Sugarscape, if y'all fancy.
