Anyone with so much as a single brain cell can tell ya that One Direction's last pre-hiatus single 'History' is a bop and a half, so the news it's just been certified gold in the UK by the BPI (the British Phonographic Industry, OOH) probably won't come as too much of a surprise.
Still well exciting though, right?
Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall's latest tune's now sold over 400,000 copies over here; which probably means they're gonna get given some more of those shiny gold disc things they obviously need more of clogging up their attics. Hooray and hoorah.
'History' is now the seventh of the boys's singles to have sold over 400k; but how does that compare to their other tunes, eh? Let's 'ave a butchers, shall we?
Platinum (600,000+ sold)
'What Makes You Beautiful'
'Story of My Life'
'Steal My Girl'
Gold (400,000+ sold)
'Live While We're Young'
'One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks)'
'Best Song Ever'
'Drag Me Down'
Silver (200,000+ sold)
And none for...
'Gotta Be You'
'You & I'
So yeah, basically they've been doing alright for themselves.
What d'ya make of that, eh? Give us a tweet over @sugarscape or drop a comment in the box below, please and ta very much.
