As Kesha opens up about her legal battle with Dr. Luke, fellow popstar-type Kelly Clarkson's admitted she was essentially 'blackmailed' into working with the 'demeaning' producer in order to get a commercial hit a few years back.
Kelly worked with Dr. Luke on 'Since U Been Gone' and 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' off of the Breakaway album, and while she hasn't commented on Kesha's situation she *has* claimed he was 'difficult' to collaborate with.
Chatting Australia's KIIS FM, Kelly said: "The last time I worked with him I only worked with him because literally I got blackmailed by my label. It was a really hard time for me. They were like, 'We will not put your album out if you don't do this. We have a whole crew to support...people that depend on us for their livelihood so sometimes you have to make decisions that you just have to swallow that pill.''
And while Kelly didn't comment on Kesha's case specifically, she did admit she found Dr. Luke hard to work with back in the day. She said: "I can remark on his character. We've clashed before...He's difficult to work with, he's kind of demeaning. Unfortunately when you have that poor a character that so many artists don't like you, that's not normal. Obviously he's a talented dude but he's lied a lot.
"Musically it's been really hard for me because he will just lie to people and it makes the artist look bad."
Meanwhile Kesha opened up about her legal battle as she accepted the Human Rights Campaign's prestigious Visibility Award last night, thanking fans for support she's received throughout the case.
