Even though details on the One Direction hiatus have been pretty changeable in the past, one thing that really bothered the fandom was Simon Cowell's comment that he wasn't sure if their time off was a break or a break-UP. Pretty big difference, as Ross Gellar would know.
Well, everyone can go ahead and breathe a massive sigh of relief, because he now sounds a lot more optimistic about the prospect of them reuniting, although he's still not exactly sure on the timeframe of the whole thing.
Chatting with E! News about what the band are doing with their free time, he explained: "Harry's doing a movie. Liam is now dating Cheryl and he's writing songs for some of our artists. Louis, I saw a couple weeks ago. He did something with me recently on the show, which will come out. Niall, I got a text from last night. So everyone's in a good place."
Massive shout out to Niall's texts. And to his golfing company, which clearly slipped Uncle Si's mind.
As for whether they'll ever rejoin forces and return to the band, Simon commented: "Eventually, I think, yeah", which sounds far more promising than "I don't know" but not quite the "Yes, in exactly two years" that we were hoping for.
Hm. Progress, we suppose.
