One Direction songwriter Savan Kotecha: 'We wanted to make Take Me Home very vanilla'

We don't know about you, but one of our favourite things about One Direction is their ability to make the innocent sound fairly filthy. Apparently that's not intentional though and according to their songwriter and producer Savan Kotecha, when he sits down to write for the lads, it's only the 'innocent and pure' that make it onto paper.

Maybe tell that to the bodily fluids running down their chinny chin chins in Kiss You, hey Savan?

Being part of the team responsible for 1D hits including One Thing, What Makes You Beautiful and new single Kiss You, Savan clearly knows a hit when it pops into his head.

That said, evreything written for the lads is apparently meant to be good, clean pop music.

"It felt like everyone tried to do boybands by going to the cool, hip producers who were coming up, we wanted to make it very vanilla," Savan told fancy music magazine Billboard.

"You're aiming for teens and tweens with boyband guilty pleasure music. We weren't trying to be urban or rhythmic, and they happened to share the same vision."

If 1D's lyrics are the definition of vanilla, it's probably our new favourite flavour. Especially when it involves 'Tonight let's get some, and live while we're young', not to mention, 'I won't let these little things, slip out of my mouth.'

Sounds pretty filthy to us, but then maybe we've just been exposed to too much Direction fanfiction - we're probably going to blame *that* blog in particular.

What do you think about this? Agree that it's all good, clean fun?
