According to RadarOnline, Chris is said to be desperate to sing with on/off gal pal Rihanna - who is already scheduled to perform at the ceremony on February 10th - as he thinks that a 'show of unity' will change his image as, er, someone who hits women.
A source told them: "Chris wants to perform with Rihanna at the Grammys to show the whole world they are back together.
"Chris doesn't care what the haters say, and wants to give the viewers an over the top performance with Rihanna.
"He wants the fans to know this is the real deal, and he is a changed man. If Rihanna can forgive him, the rest of the world should move on from what happened four years ago."
However, it seems like the organisers of the event aren't as eager as Chris (QUELLE SHOCK), with an insider revealing that there's concern a duet from the duo could cause a backlash from viewers.
An insider told Radar: "It's an extremely delicate situation and there is concern about the backlash the performance could receive. But it could also be ratings gold."
After his attack on Ri in 2009, Chris was charged and sentenced to six months of community service, as well as being placed on probation for five years.
The fact he is STILL on probabtion for beating her up hasn't put Rihanna off though - the pair have been regularly photographed together over the last few months, and have reven ecorded duet 'Nobodies Business'.
