Clearly Jake Bugg has never had One Direction waggle their crotches about in his face because he's not much of a fan and reckons that by the time Directioners are grey and old, the lads will be nothing but a distant memory.
Whether or not you're a fan of the lads, you can't deny that they're taking the world by storm, but Jake still isn't a fan of the amount of chart topping acts that got together through comps like X Factor.
"I don't care about the word 'pop', The Beatles were pop, it's just what's popular," Jake told Q.
"But sadly what's popular today is most manufactured and commercial and all about fame and looks and boy bands. It's not on."
"One Direction? The young girls will grow up and forget about 'em.
"There's only [one direction] they'll be going after that, isn't there? Down. I'm interested in which songs, artists, will be remembered in 50 years' time," he added.
As long as there are some fit boys in our life, we couldn't care less whether they met at a bus stop in Slough or were handcrafted from clay by Simon Cowell's own hands.
But what do you reckon - has Jake got a point or did he just get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
