What's the deal?
Unless you've been living under a rock-like object or somewhere with absolutely appalling wi-fi, you'll know that Kesha's been having a pretty shit time of it lately. We're not gonna get into it too much 'cos a) it's kinda complicated and b) this feels like a fresh start of sorts, but basically she's been in a legal battle with Dr. Luke and unable to release music outside of her contract with Sony. Google it.
ANYWAY, following the Dr. Luke verdict producer-type person Zedd offered to work with Kesha; and he result is a re-recorded version of his track 'True Colors.' It's all legit and approved by RCA, but is it a proper return to form? Let's find out.
Wait, this sounds just like...
Nothing that's out there right now, really. It does sound a lot like Zedd's 'True Colors,' though. Funny that.
'I'm not afraid, I'm not' or 'I've escaped my capture and I have no master.' Particularly poignant 'cos the original lyric was 'We've escaped our capture, yet we have our masters.'
Nah, it's all just very powerful and inspiring. Not a bad lyric in there.
We'd listen to this...
Whenever anyone tries telling us we can't fit five custard creams in our mouth and won't end up marrying Harry Styles. We'll show you our true colours, mate. Hmph.
The song summed up in emojis:
If there's any justice in this world this should be number 1 for about six weeks, but we'll see. LET'S LISTEN YEAHHH.
