When we found out Don Broco were supporting 5 Seconds of Summer on the UK (and whole bloody European) leg of their Sounds Live Feels Live tour, it's safe to say we were chuffed to bits. Then we realised they couldn't actually do the London dates 'cos of a clash with their Bring Me The Horizon slot, cried a bit and eventually booked a ticket up to Manchester to catch 'em.
True love knows no distance, guys.
Yup - we caught up with Rob, Matt and Tom at the Manchester Arena ahead of their second show there to get all the backstage goss. Who parties harder? What pranks have they pulled? What do Calum Hood's used towels smell like (okay, we refrained from asking that one)?
Chatting about which bunch of boys parties harder on the road, Tom said: "They've got more responsibility on this tour so they're probably just taking it a bit easy; but I reckon they could probably give as good as Broco. They're Aussies, after all."
Rob added: "It's nice for us when you're doing a support tour. You don't have to worry so much about your voice, as much as you would a headline...You don't wanna ruin the tour by getting too wasted and screaming your head off singing along to the Spice Girls back in the tour bus. But the 5SOS guys are up for a party, they're really good fun."
Oh, we can see it now. Michael Clifford resurrecting the red hair to channel his inner Ginger Spice while Matt off of Don Broco serves a Posh pout.
So what pranks have the Don Broco boys pulled on 5SOS so far, then? "No crazy, crazy pranks as of yet," Rob assured us. "The bigger the prank, the more risk it could probably go wrong. We only joined the tour a week ago, so we'll ease in a little bit first before we start moving all their stuff around."
Well now you know who to go hunt down when your drum kit goes AWOL, Ash.
Check out our little chat below, yeah? Cool.
What d'ya make of that, then? Did you catch Don Broco on the tour? Give us a tweet over @sugarscape, please and ta very much.
