Someone took the 'I before E' rule too literally...
While the GRAMMY Awards are always all fun and games, what with Taylor Swift thinking she's won awards and such, the 'in memorium' section is always emotional. This year, though, some Glee fans have been left feeling disappointed after Cory Monteith's name was misspelled in his tribute.
Following his tragic passing last July, Cory was honoured at last night's ceremony - although the fact his name was spelled wrong by the show's producers left many angry.
Somebody obviously took the 'I before E except before C' rule a *bit* too literally, as Cory's surname appeared on-screen as 'Montieth' rather than 'Monteith'...and the mishap didn't go down too well. One Twitter user vented: "I'm so mad they misspelled Cory's last name, like seriously show some respect," with another saying "They misspelled Cory Monteith's last name. Proofreading is a lost art. And in this case, a loss of respect too."
Hard not to agree with, really.
What do you think? Should the show's producers have taken more care? Comments please.
