The smokey eye is the most coveted make-up look going, but unfortunately seems to be one of the most difficult ones to muster. It seems like celebs are the only ones to have it down to a tee, and even they get it wrong sometimes. Yes Leighton Meester, we do mean you!

However, fellow Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen is one lucky star that definitely has the smokey eye down to a fine art!

Her eyes are cool and edgy but still super sexy! So how do you do it? Thanks for Bourjois, the smokey eye has now been made easy with some new additions to their collection.

First, line eyes with their brand new Smokey Eye Effect Eyeliner in Intense Black, £4.85 from ASOS. Do both the top and bottom of your eye first with the pencil, then use the brush on the other end to blend and smudge to perfection.

To get a glossier look like Taylor, dab a tiny bit of Vaseline on lids before applying shadow. We like using the little pocket-size version for only £1.25. It's good on your lips too! You can get it in most supermarkets and chemists.

You may be happy with your smokey lined eyes as they are, but for a more dramatic effect, turn to Bourjois' Smokey Eyes trio, £7.30 from ASOS. First use the white shine in the inner corners of your eye. Sweep the greyright across your lid, going as far as the crease. Then use the black in the socket.
