Poor Cheryl Cole. Just when is her spate of bad luck going to end? As if coping with the breakdown of her marriage wasn't enough, Cheryl's been forced to put work commitments on the back burner again after contracting a nasty case of bronchitis.

As a result of her illness Chez has had to cancel scheduled appearances today on Radio One's Live Lounge and BBC show Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.

Cheryl's been putting a brave face on while out and about.

Instead the stricken star is spending the day holed up at her Surrey home after being ordered by doctors to postpone her promotional tour for new single Parachute until she's fully recovered.

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the air passages between the nose and the lungs, which manifests in a very nasty cough. It usually follows a viral infection such as a cold or flu, and is more common for people who smoke.

But Cheryl won't be expecting any nursing from estranged husband Ashley who's currently still in France receiving treatment for his broken ankle.

We doubt she'll be wearing this top again for a while

Although the couple haven't yet consulted divorce lawyers, they are expected to meet next week to discuss the future of their relationship. If Cheryl files for divorce she could be entitled to half of  Ashley's wealth, which currently stands at more than three times the amount of her personal fortune.

Cheryl's friends and family are said to be furious at Ashley.

We just hope the stress of her marital problems doesn't leave Cheryl feeling more rundown. Get well soon Chezza!
