We caught up with Jimmy from Foals while he was on his way to Birmingham...
We predict that Foals are going to be big, they started out playing at house parties and was soon to be picked up by the hit show Skins in which they featured in a mini-episode on MySpace.
Now their tickets are selling quicker than hot cakes, they are currently touring the UK, you can find out where they are playing and where to buy tickets here
We had a chat with Jimmy about dropping out of uni, girlie ipod tracks and living together....

Jimmy from Foals
Hi Jimmy, Where are you right now?
Hi, we are on the road to the Birmingham Academy for a gig
Are you with the rest of the guys?
Just Yannis actually, the rest split off in the bus last night and we are in a car.
Do you still all live in Brighton in a house together?
No we live back in Oxford now, we lived together in Brighton for a couple of months, it was pretty good actually, it was good morale for the band. But we didn’t get out much, we stayed in a lot practised songs all day. It was more like a job really, getting up at 9 every morning then finishing at 5 or 6
Who has got the worst habits out of all of you?
Probably Walter! He’s a bit gassy! From both ends!
Did you ever argue about who ate the last bit of cheese or anything?
No not really though someone kept watering down Edwin’s whiskey! We never worked out who it was though we think it was Steve from Blood Red Shoes.
The Foals are renowned for dropping out of uni, did you drop out?
No I didn’t, everyone else did, I finished my degree, I’m a trained geographer, which is totally useless!

Do you think the other guys would go back to uni?
I dunno, I dunno if they really liked it. I don’t think it was really their kind of thing to be honest.
Someone described your type of music as math-rock. Would the guys go back to uni if you created a subject of mathrock?
Haha I think it would be a pretty boring course!
What is math-rock?
We’re not really math rock. It’s just intelligent guitar music I guess.
It’s also been described as techno, electro and organic, but if you had to describe your music as an animal then what would it be?
I dunno! Maybe a wilderbeast, quite wild and bumbling!
You’ve had lots of rave reviews, but what's the biggest compliment that someone has ever paid you?
That Yannis looks like Prince and we sound like the Police.
What will you buy with your first paycheck?
I’m going to buy a laptop actually. Everyone else has got one and I’m way behind the times. I’m going to take my mum on holiday aswell.
That’s nice of you, where would you like to go?
Florence, My mum got ill last time so I want to take her again so she can enjoy it properly.
Do you get recognized on public transport?
I don’t but Yannis does, none of us mind it really but it's creepy after a while, like when you have absolutely nothing in common with people and they are talking to you, but I guess its all part of the job.

What the girliest song on your ipod?
Rihanna – Umbrella or Nelly Furtado, Promiscuous Girl the one with Timbaland.
Where’s the most incredible place you’ve played so far?
New York was pretty great! And we played in Dublin with Bloc Party in front of 10,000 people, that was pretty incredible.
You’re on your own tour now?
We are a week into the tour, it’s amazing, it’s our first headline tour. It’s all sold out, the kids are going crazy!
Do you have any groupies?
Haha, I can’t divulge that information! [giggles]
Do you have people you recognize that come to every gig?
Yeah, and that’s one of the best things about what we do, meeting loads of people.
Is there anyone in music that you think should give up?
I think Mika should give up, I wish he would just disappear, I just don’t like his voice.
You used to play a lot of house parties, if you had to play at a celebrity house party who would it be?
Ooh Sting in his French Chateau!
What do you make of Emo music like Panic at the Disco or Fall Out Boy?
I don’t really like it, I didn’t mind earlier emo like early Jimmyeatworld and Embrace but I think My Chemical Romance is a bit overblown, Its not the same as the emo I used to listen to.
Why would our readers buy your music?
They haven’t heard music like us before, it’s new music and I think it’s interesting. Hopefully! Not just throw away pop music…
