New album deals with heartbreak
But since then, brave Alexandra has ended the toxic relationship and spent the last couple of months working on her music.
Well, now she's back with her second album packed with advice for mending a broken heart. Coincidence?
We had a chat with Alexandra to see what it’s all about.
“Basically it’s someone who is going through a bad situation and they’re putting their heartbreak on hold and telling the other person: ‘I’m doing this on my own now and I’m going to live my life’.
“That’s the whole kind of concept behind the whole album in terms of being positive, putting anything negative aside and turning it around.”
Well, that’s certainly what Alexandra has done in the last few months. But how does she stay so strong?
“I’m just a positive person. I really trained myself to be that girl that will put anything negative, whatever life throws at me, any obstacle, I try my best to turn it around to be a positive situation.”
Wow. What an inspiration. So what advice would Alexandra give to anyone going through heartbreak?
“If somebody was going through a situation the best thing to do is to surround yourself with good people who you trust, people who make you smile.”
Now that the auditions for the new series of X Factor are underway, will Alexandra be back as a guest judge?
“No, because at the moment I’m really concentrating on my music and my second album. But you know, if the call ever came up it would be something that would be up for discussion between myself and Simon. “But at this time I’m just concentrating on my music.”
Fair enough. Well, listen up Simon because we’d love to see Alexandra back as a guest judge!
