She doesn't need a parachute, but...
So you may have heard about the controversy surrounding X Factor after bosses admitted that the contestants’ voices are auto-tuned to sound a little easier on the ears of the viewing public.
After playing his 7.7 million breakfast show listeners Cheryl’s live performance of Parachute, the motor mouth DJ said: “I love Cheryl but that’s awful.”
Not one to pull punches Chris then continued to offer Cheryl some friendly advice: “I can't ignore it, it's not the best, is it? She might not need a parachute but she could bloody do with some singing lessons."
So while we do feel inclined to jump to Cheryl’s defence because like Chris we love her, we have some evidence which may suggest that a bit of vocal coaching might not go amiss. Just saying.
Anyway, before you jump down our throats take a look at this.
That was, ahem, interesting. After his very public slating of our Chezza, Chris did go on to do his bit to keep her sweet saying:“If you’re listening Cheryl, we love you.”
Yes we’re sure she loves you too Chris…
Do you agree with Chris Moyles’ view on Cheryl’s singing? Does she sound suspiciously better on her CDs? Or will you defend her no matter what?
