Could pop's golden girl new career move spell the end for Girls Aloud??

At Sugarscape we adore Girls Aloud (we actually work ourselves into a bit of a frenzy when we get reminded that their tour kicks offf at the end of this month!) So when we heard reports on the rumour mill that some of the girls were planning solo careers, we did get a bit upset.

Pick yoursevels back up off the floor, because the girls have confirmed that they are not about to split. Phew! Apparently, Cheryl, who collaborated with US artist Will.i.am last year on his massive hit Heartbreaker, is just planning on building her solo work portfolio. There really is no stopping her is there! Girls Aloud, X Factor, solo material, what next? The world?

Sources say the kind of material Cheryl wants to work on is very R&B-based. We all know that's her favourite type of music! Cheryl likes nothing better than throwing some serious shapes to some R&B beats. Just look at her go in this sassy routine, from the girls tour last summer...watch out for the dig at Ashley aswell, "Might trick me once, I'll never let you trick me twice!" You go girl!!

Now we're all for artisits breaking off to do their own thing, as long as it doesn't spell the end for Girls Aloud!

Hopefully Cheryl will have more luck than these lot did!!

Gary Barlow's second solo album peaked at number 35 in the charts. He was dropped soon after! Mel B's second solo album (we didn't realise she had made a seccond one either!) sold just 670 copies in its first week. CRINGE! And lovely Kym Marsh's third solo album also only peaked at number 35, so she quit music for the world off acting instead. What a good move that turned out to be!

What do you make of that then?? Comments please!
