Think subtle steam - not full on 50 shades...
Irresistible is the story of Mia, who gets a summer job in a posh country club. Though a romance quickly develops with fellow student Dan, Mia finds herself drawn to wealthy bad boy Jamie. He’s got everything he could ever want, and enjoys nothing more than messing with people’s lives for his own entertainment.
Mia knows getting involved with Jamie is bad idea, but there’s something so dangerously exciting about him she just can’t resist… Irresistible is by debut author Liz Bankes, described by Piccadilly MD Brenda Gardner as ‘that rare thing, a totally natural writer for teens’.
Liz says, ‘Irresistible is the book I would have wanted to read as a teenager – full of gossip, some rude bits and sequences that would be set to music if there were in a film – but with love at its heart’. For me, a ‘steamy’ is a story focusing on the feelings you have when you meet someone you like, and it’s written at the point where those feelings are confusing but exciting! I wanted to write about passion that feels real, immediate and recognisable’.
